How to manage my Foreign Affairs subscription: 

 

I'm a new subscriber how do I active my account on ForeignAffairs.com?

To start reading, set up your password here. This step must be completed to activate your subscription. This will change your status from NON-SUBSCRIBER to ACTIVE.

 

How do I sign in to my account on ForeignAffairs.com?

Click SIGN IN in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com. Enter the email associated with your account and password.

If you’re blocked from reading after logging in, click ACCOUNT in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com to check what email you are using to log in. If you use multiple email addresses, ensure you are using the same email as when you subscribed.

 

I forgot my email/password.

If you do not know your password, RESET YOUR PASSWORD HERE. 

  1. Enter the email associated with your account
  2. Check your inbox for your password reset link
  3. Create and submit your new password
  4. SIGN IN using your new password

If you use multiple email addresses, try double-checking you’re logging in using the same email as when you subscribed.

 

What if I don't want to reset my password?

You can login anytime using the SIGN IN WITHOUT PASSWORD button on our SIGN IN page. Enter your email address, and you will receive a one-time login link to your email inbox.

 

How do I check if my Foreign Affairs account is active?

Click SIGN IN in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com. Enter the email associated with your account and password. Click ACCOUNT to view current account information.

 

How do I manage my account information online?

Click ACCOUNT in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com or visit ForeignAffairs.com/services.

If you've recently made changes to your account, please log out and log back in again to refresh your account information.

If you receive print issues, please provide any mailing address updates as soon as you're able to avoid any missed issues!

 

How do I generate a receipt or invoice for my subscription?

To generate a receipt, click ACCOUNT in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com and follow the link to manage your subscription information online. 

 

Where can I find my account number?

On print issues, your account number is located above your name on your address label.

When can I expect my print magazine to arrive in the mail?

Print magazine issues will arrive 1–2 weeks after new issues are released in newsstands and online. Foreign Affairs publishes new issues 6 times a year, on a bimonthly schedule. New issues will be published in January, March, May, July, September, and November.

To check your mailing address is correct, click ACCOUNT in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com. 

If you are a new subscriber, your first print issue will be mailed within 6 – 8 weeks, since we publish every other month. (Please allow up to 2 more weeks for locations outside the U.S.)

How to use ForeignAffairs.com: 

I am a subscriber, but I have not registered my email on ForeignAffairs.com.

Complete the form at ForeignAffairs.com/register. You will need to enter your account number to complete registration.

I am logged in and a paid, active subscriber, but I am blocked from reading on ForeignAffairs.com. What happened?

SIGN IN with the same email associated with your active subscription. Click ACCOUNT in the upper right corner of ForeignAffairs.com to check what email you are using to log in. If you use multiple email addresses, try using the same email as when you subscribed.

 

Why do I need to log in to access articles sent to me in email newsletters?

Our website does recognize and keep returning subscribers logged in to the extent that we can control, however, your browser settings may be overriding this. 
 
Please review your privacy guide & security settings (in Google Chrome, these can be accessed from the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the window). Once logged back in at ForeignAffairs.com, you should be able to adjust your browser settings to prevent proactive logout. Some browsers log you out for your own security, but by choosing to trust Foreign Affairs you will skip the frustration of being asked to log in too frequently.
 

How do I download issues from ForeignAffairs.com?

PDF (for desktop), EPUB (for iPad), and MOBI (for Kindle) downloads are available for all new issues for subscribers with unlimited digital access. Click here to learn about our subscription plan options.

To download and read PDF files, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Reader is available for free download here.

Print subscribers may upgrade to download digital offerings or access the app. All subscribers can read current issues online at any time here.

 

Do my digital issues or purchases expire?

No. Any downloaded issues and purchases are yours to keep. 

 

I am having trouble with the anti-bot verification. What can I do?

Anti-bot verification problems occur when privacy settings in your browser conflict with our anti-bot verification, a necessary tool to keep our site working. The current shift towards an internet that allows more control over your privacy and data means there are a few extra steps users now need to allow ForeignAffairs.com to recognize you and keep you logged in.

To troubleshoot, please try the options below:

  • Download the most recent version of your web browser
  • Review your privacy guide & security settings
  • If you're on a public network (including hotels, airports, or your company's DNS or VPN), if possible switch to a private network
  • Clear your browsing data
  • Try the Foreign Affairs app for iOS and Android devices
  • Try a different web browser 
  • Once logged back in at ForeignAffairs.com, adjust your browser settings to prevent proactive logout

I am not a Foreign Affairs subscriber. How much does the app cost?

The app is free to download in the Apple and Google Play stores. For access to the app AND ForeignAffairs.com, subscribe here.

Once the app is downloaded, non-subscribers can purchase an app-only subscription, single issues, and special collections. Prices vary for individual purchases and do not include access on ForeignAffairs.com.

I subscribed in the app store. Do I get access on ForeignAffairs.com?

Unfortunately, app-only subscriptions purchased directly through Apple or Google Play do not include access on ForeignAffairs.com. This is because Apple/Google does not share purchaser data with its magazine vendors, so we are not able to integrate your account with our website.

If you'd like access to our website AND the app, please cancel your app-only subscription with Apple/Google, and re-subscribe with us directly at ForeignAffairs.com/subscription

 

How do I sign in?

Tap Account in the lower right corner of the app. Then Tap Existing Subscriptions. Enter the email associated with your account and password. 

New subscribers can unlock app access here.

 

I am logged in and a subscriber, but I am unable to download any issues. What happened?

If you use multiple email addresses, try double-checking you’re logging in using the same email as when you subscribed. Tap Account in the lower right corner of the app to view account information.

Please also check your wireless connection. You must be connected to make purchases or download issues and special collections.

 

How do I restore my issues and special collections if I delete the app or purchase a new tablet or mobile device?

After reinstalling the app, issues and special collections can be restored by downloading them from your account: Tap Account in the lower right corner of the app. Tap App Store Purchases, and then tap Restore. You will not be charged for items that you have already purchased.

 

What devices can I use to access the app?

The app is currently available on all iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices.

 

Do my issues or purchases expire?

No. Any downloaded issues and purchases are yours to keep.

 

My download stopped. What happened?

The download will pause if you lose connectivity or close the app. To resume the download, re-open the app and tap the item again.

 

I purchased individual issues or special collections from ForeignAffairs.com, but don’t see them in the app.

Individual purchases made on ForeignAffairs.com by non-subscribers are separate from purchases made within the Foreign Affairs app. For access to the app AND ForeignAffairs.com, subscribe here.

 

Can I get a preview before I make a purchase?

There are sample articles in every issue for you to preview. 

 

 Who should I contact for support on my Apple or Google Play store subscription?

Contact Apple or Google Play support by opening the App/Google Play store icon on your device and tapping Support to get answers for the following:

  • I have downloaded the Foreign Affairs app but cannot locate the icon on my device.

We offer a small number of articles in Spanish and Chinese.
