In the next U.S. presidential election, voters will be choosing not just a vision of America but a vision of America’s place in the world. Whoever wins in November will face immediate and momentous decisions—about how to manage competition with China, how to address problems such as climate change and nuclear proliferation, how to fashion a role for the United States in a changing world—not to mention the unanticipated crises that could dominate the president’s national security agenda.
This special election coverage is made possible in part by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York.
